Troy Alexander has over 8 years of experience in the world of hair. Originally from San Diego, he moved to the bay area to pursue a change of pace. As a platform artist and educator for international hair company Rusk, Troy has been and continues to be trained by the top leaders in the industry. From hair shows to intimate in-salon classes, he provides his insight and expertise in the world of modern, innovative hair cutting and coloring techniques to stylists all across the country. He is inspired by art and fashion and strives to fuse the two in all of the looks he creates in the salon.
After a brief landing in Palo Alto at Edge Salon, Troy made his way into San Francisco’s Marina District here at Red Union Salon and is excited to shake up the hair scene, one strand at a time.
Out of the salon Troy maintains a disciplined yoga and meditation practice and also teaches several yoga classes throughout the week at AstaYoga here in the city. He is a true investigator, reading and collecting books in his spare time. His easy going, yet curious approach to life translates into the salon by curating a calm and stress free experience.
“Hair is the ultimate accessory and I encourage all of my guests to be playful with it and have fun! I believe that beautiful hair can be effortless. From shampoo to style it should be a look that not only accentuates your best features, but is easy to maintain. I combine modern texture with customized color placements to maximize your looks with the least amount of fuss. So whether you’re a wiz with the round-brush or prefer to shower and shake, I strive to find the perfect style for you.
Beauty is not measured by your ability to blend in with the crowd. Make a statement. Be Beautiful.”
