Joyful Color is the theme of this exhibition. The colors and textures in these images literally come from underfoot. They are everywhere in San Francisco. At every intersection you can see them, dots of spray paint marking the drains in the city streets. The artist noticed them one day while waiting to cross the street. The abstractness, and seeming randomness of the markings called to her. All of a sudden she was seeing them everywhere. Their bright cheerful colors attracted her. So, she photographed them, in rain, sunshine, shadow, and all weathers. One of the purposes of art is to share a vision. And the vision of the artist, in this case, is to share the joyful color underfoot.

Christine Hoffmann, has participated in exhibitions at Photo Central in 2004 and 2005. This is her first solo exhibit.
